What Makes Quadro Different
What Makes Quadro Different?
You may not know that Quadro has been around for almost 100 years! Though not in name, Quadro Communications Co-Operative was established in November 1994, after converting from the Blanshard Municipal Telephone System, established in 1924.
What makes Quadro stand out is that we are a Co-Operative. What exactly does that mean? It means we are a member-owned business that is responsible to OUR members, not external shareholders. Our Board of Directors determine how the co-op will be run. We offer each customer a member share – one member, one vote. Power is shared equally among all members, rather than concentrated in the hands of a few. Each year we hold our Annual General Meeting (usually held in the Spring). At which we go over our previous years’ financials, growth plans for the company and hold elections for any Board of Director positions that may be open at that time.
Did you know that each year Quadro makes a profit a portion of those profits are paid back to the members in the form of a credit toward their active account, known as patronage. In 2019 Quadro paid over $191,000 back to its customers. Can you say that about the other telecommunications companies in Ontario?
Quadro has not had a price increase on our standard Internet packages in over 2 years. Again, not something other telecommunication companies can say. We are so confident in our service and support that we don’t require customers to be locked into contracts. We are transparent with our offerings and offer the same packages and pricing to each and very customer. Everyone is treated fairly and equally just like we say in our Mission, Vision and Values statement, “Exhibit integrity, transparency and value in everything we do”.
